Sad Day

We finished our student teaching today at Mother Teresa school. I am trying to find words for how amazing this experience has been, but I am really at a loss. I learned a lot of things, so maybe point form will suffice.

1. Teaching is different day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year and that excites me
2. We need to do more for our special needs students. I will continue going in on Friday afternoons to work with Zachary and Benny....Zachary has Cerebral Palsy and Benny is my lil DS man. These two little men light up my face and warm my heart. It is because of them that I am leaning further and further into specializing in Special Education.
3. I need to work on explaining myself more thoroughly and stop assuming that everyone understands what im talking about hahahaha.......examples, steps, lists, checklists, and so forth will help me in my lesson instruction
4. I need to continue to beef up on my classroom management tactics......standing in front of the room waiting for the kids to be quiet does not work......yelling is not my style either. I'll get there........clapping rhythms works, telling them they are wasting their own time works, and asking them to pay back the time they wasted from me also works.......
5. I am in the right field and passionate about what I do......my kids always come first
6. Mother Teresa has a fantastic administrator and they are very fortunate to have him!

BOTH PICTURES ARE OF ZACHARY TELLING ME JOKES AND LAUGHING AT ME
